A new large scale mixed media painting on canvas. This work was conceived as a sketch on my iPad pro and translated into a painting. It is inspired by modern forms in space, volume and flatness and the facets this imaginary object creates. With this and many of my abstractions, the relationships of the forms and the edges of the picture plane are important to creating visual tension as if it is holding the object in space. Transparency and shadows act as compositional tools to create movement.
