I have always enjoyed painting. I like to paint a variety of colours, styles and subject matters. I am still searching for my own voice within my art creations. I would like my art to be recognizable as my own style like when you see a painting by Picasso, you know who painted it or at least you know his style painted by someone else. So far, my love of variety has kept me from settling on any one set of colours, styles or subjects matters. I really paint intuitively. I just paint what I feel or what I am emotional about at the time. I love horses and animals. I love beautiful sceneries. I paint whatever I am feeling passionate about at the moment. I am mostly painting in a style I call 'Separationalism.' During the Covid 19 pandemic, when we were being isolated from each other, I felt the urge to divide my painting elements into separated parts, encircling them with lines, usually black lines, and protecting the elements from each other. I describe Separationalism as ultra contemporary or ultra modern art. Separationalism is "the separating out of the natural and the holy from the new artificial world system." These artworks can uplift a space to make it more modern or contemporary. This artform is forward looking and future oriented, often with a protest element against the direction that humanity is taking. Everything that can be used for good, can also be used for evil. So while we are excited about the new technologies and the advancements of mankind, we are also leery and watchful; sounding the alarm against any new threats to peace, happiness and human survival. With AI and robots soon to be taking many of the traditional jobs away from people, 5G towers (weapons?) set up on every corner, CRISPR creatures being created in labs, the fear of losing bodily autonomy and the decline of our financial and personal independence with the looming CBDCs, the future seems daunting. When I'm feeling uncertain about the future, I often paint in this style. When I'm craving a sense of freedom and peace, I will paint a horse running freely or uninhibited, usually on a beach. I might also paint a pretty nature scene. I really do like to paint modern geometric shapes too so I never know what will be next. This makes the art much more enjoyable for me to engage with and I hope it will also be an enjoyable experience for other people too.
