POCKET Painting

My work is a visual depiction of my life story, told through a personal language of symbols, recurring motifs, and layered imagery. Each element carries its own meaning, building a narrative that develops across my body of work. This symbolic language allows me to express thoughts and emotions that I often find difficult to communicate with words. I explore themes drawn from my everyday experiences, from school, relationships, my journey through my hockey career, and the complex mix of inner thoughts and emotions that come with finding my identity and place in this world. Painting has become my way of processing the world around me and reflecting on the moments that shape who I am. My painting style mirrors how I live my life: bold, fast, and loud. I use a wide range of materials such as acrylic, spray paint, airbrush, pastels, and oil sticks, each chosen with intention to match the energy, emotion, or message behind the work. The materials themselves become part of the narrative, adding texture and weight to the stories I tell. While my art is rooted in personal experience, it’s important to me that viewers find space for their own interpretation. I hope people can see parts of themselves in my work, connecting to the emotion, the chaos, or the quiet, while imagining their own stories unfolding within the imagery.
