Born in Alma in 1978, Julie Lessard grew up in a neighborhood where the proximity of nature nourished her need to discover the very essence of life. She discovered an incredible source of inspiration and healing. From an early age, she always had a pencil on hand to draw on the corner of a leaf. She drew or tinkered constantly. At that time, Julie also began working on the wood in her parents' basement where she built her first bird huts. Art classes at school have always been her favorites, she discovered several forms of art that she later experimented at home. It was in the early 2000s that she began to paint acrylic. Landscapes, portraits and abstract canvases are the fruit of his essays. She touched a few styles and experimented with a few different techniques. At that moment, she painted from time to time, without really knowing where she was going. Thereafter, Julie followed several sessions of cabinetmaking courses. The making of various furniture occupied his spare time. Quietly, she got tools and continued to design furniture at home, as well as all kinds of decorative stuff for the home. In 2016, a screaming need to paint pushes the artist to get back to painting. To paint what is purely imaginary, without barrier or constraint fuels his artistic approach. To express one's emotions, to exteriorize one's feelings and to immerse oneself in the present moment is what she seeks to make live through her paintings. Quietly, Julie develops her personal style, pure lines and hard at once, bright colors and gray levels are his works.
