For the past 40 years I’ve been working as a photographer in Cape Town, South Africa, specialising in portrait photography. In 2004 I was commissioned by the Demond Tutu Peace Trust to photograph celebrities around the world for an exhibition HANDS THAT SHAPE HUMANITY. The exhibition included portraits of musicians Carlos Santana and Cesária Évora; authors Chinua Achebe, Paul Theroux, Tom Robbins and Isabel Allende; political dissident Wei Jingsheng; spiritual leaders Archbishop Demond Tutu and Rabbi Aidan Steisaltz; artists Marc Quinn and Douglas Coupland; actors Gillian Anderson and Natascha McElhone and politicians President Shimon Peres and President FW de Klerk.
