Jung S Kim is known for a masquerading self-portrait artist based in New Jersey, with roots tracing back to Seoul, Korea. Her unwavering passion for the visual arts propelled her to pursue a major in Fine Art Photography at Chung-Ang University in Korea. In 2001, she embarked on a transformative journey, immigrating to the United States, where she has ardently nurtured her career in the realm of photographic art. Kim's artistic prowess has earned recognition both nationally and internationally, with exhibitions at prestigious venues such as the Providence Center for Photographic Arts, Filter Photo Festival, Humble Art Foundation, The Center for Fine Art Photography, The Griffin Museum of Photography, and the New York Foundation for the Arts. In 2014, Kim received a distinguished invitation to The New York Times-Lens New York Portfolio Review, solidifying her standing within the photography community. Notably, her work secured a coveted spot in "Photography NOW" at The Center for Photography at Woodstock. Her artistic influence extends globally, with participation in renowned events such as Rencontres Internationales De La Photographie in Arles, The 3rd Asian Women Photographer Showcase at the Obscura Festival, Kwangju Biennale, the Daegu Photo Biennale, and exhibitions at distinguished institutions like Seoul Museum of Art in Korea, and Soho Photo Gallery in NYC. She has garnered esteemed accolades, including the Robert Cornelius Portrait Award, Julia Margaret Cameron Award, Grand Prix Juror Award, Director's Choice Award from the C4FAP, and the AHL Foundation of Visual Arts Award. Kim's notable series, "Circle," has been published as "Zine Collection No10, Circle" by Editions Bessard in Paris. Collections of Kim's work find a home in esteemed institutions, including, FNAC (Fonds National d’Art Contemporain) in France, Imago Mundi Collection in Italy, The Center for Photography at Woodstock in New York and Daelim Museum(former Hanlim Museum) and Samtan Art Mine Museum in Korea. Her artistic journey continues to captivate audiences, establishing her as a dynamic force in the contemporary photographic landscape.
