Introduction I am both a practicing sculptor and photographer. My work can be purely sculptural, photographic or the drawing together of both mediums into what I call ImageSculptures as exemplified in my body of work Loves & Vanities. This method was also the subject of my PhD research entitled Two Kinds of Being - An Interface Between Sculpture and Photography. Sculpture Welcome To The Third Millennium takes it’s theme from the rhetoric and hype which heralded the third millennium as a chance for a new beginning, a better and more peaceful world. My aim is to comment on humanity's position at the beginning of the new millennium. The work does not presume to have any specific ideological or political position but it invites its audience to move among and engage with the life-sized sculptures, so as to encourage them to bring their thoughts to bear upon the challenges which face humanity and possibly its survival. ImageSculpture Loves and Vanities is an attempt to make sense of my own humanity and mortality through examination of my relationship with both my past and present, the loves and joys, pain, fears and anxieties that existence entails, together with relationship between body and mind, time and decay, life and death. Photography My London is an on-going documentary project which is a very personal reflection on the city of my birth, it's beauty, it's ugliness, the quintessential qualities which make it such a unique city and particularly the loneliness and pathos which lies within this great and vibrant metropolis.
