Gina Cross (1969) is a London-based multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the relationships between shape, colour, space, and light. Her work often involves metal plate, collage, sculpture, and still-life photography, with colour and light playing central roles in how she engages the viewer, leading to an intuitive and experimental approach to her practice Gina says “Drawing sometimes from the structural elegance of haute couture, the spatial complexities of architecture, and the tactile possibilities of metal and paper, my work explores the intersection of design, material, physical movement and emotional connection. Each piece is a reflection of the body’s engagement with its surroundings—whether through the sharp precision of etched metal or the delicate folds of paper. My process is often physical, particularly when creating sculptural works and each work is representative of my own physical movement - drawing unplanned, often sweeping and intuitive lines in to paper with a knife to create new shapes and spacial forms.”
