LIGHT SIGNALS Print - Limited Edition of 8

- Art for me is a means of bringing past moments back to life; my life, the women I have photographed, loved or simply desired, and placing them in a set with an extravagant, Fellini-esque backdrop. The colours come to life and the characters spring into action, using my canvas as a stage. - I was born in Canosa di Puglia -Italy- on 23 May 1948, and I immediately dedicated myself to my artistic passion, which drives me to travel around Europe, painting metaphysical and surreal works. My various experiences have led me to refine my artistic talent, until I arrived at digital collage, starting from my photographs that I digitally process and print on various supports and finally treat with enamel and oil paint. My works, therefore, the result of these interventions, lie in a borderline area between painting and photography, while maintaining the value of the unique piece. - My mixed techniques are constructed by fishing from the immense archive of images collected over the years, a landscape, a shop window in Frankfurt, a skyscraper in the city of London, a woman I met in Paris become part of the immense reserve of subjects I photograph in order to include them in my works. The intention is to tell stories and communicate emotions. Also through the choice of a dominant colour, acid, excessive, sometimes surrounded by total light, white, and the darkness of black. Fragments of stories from the world of oneiric dreams, where it is difficult to distinguish between illusion and reality. Refined, mysterious images, immersed in surreal atmospheres, the result of an elaborate mix of set design and painting. - I have taken part in various group and personal exhibitions and national and international photography competitions, obtaining numerous awards, to mention but a few, in 2005 I became part of the Rassegna di Artisti partecipanti a ARTE by Cairo Editore, in 2007 one of my works was awarded and selected to take part in the 2008 Rome Modern Art Biennial. In 2009 participation in the prestigious Sony World Photography Awards in Cannes, where one of my photos was chosen by Sony for advertising use in Great Britain. In 2009 Critic's Prize, in 2010 First Natiolum Prize. In 2014 another Critic's Award at the Natiolum National Prize, in the same year, Special Mention with Plaque at the Creativity Biennial in Verona. Numerous solo and group exhibitions followed, in Italy and abroad, including Dubai, Paris, New York.
