Rebecca Fox is a predominantly self-taught sculptor with over twenty-five years of experience in metal sculpture, exclusively crafts abstract sculptures from steel and bronze. Her work, defined by circles and unique patinas, challenge conventional notions of form, balance, and space while exploring the intriguing contradictions between material and form. At the beginning of her sculpture career, Rebecca explored creating metal sculpture through classes at City College of San Francisco, CA. Rebecca further refined her craft as a welder and metal fabricator at 3D Studios in Oakland, CA. Her extensive portfolio of work graces over 300 private collections, prominent public institutions, and commercial properties, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, Stanford Hospital & Clinics, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Zscaler, Gravity Tavern, and the Aurelian Marketing Group. Rebecca's work has been widely exhibited in the Bay Area, gaining recognition in prestigious shows including A Question of Balance at the Museum of Sonoma County in Santa Rosa, CA in 2024 and the de Young Open at the de Young Museum in San Francisco, CA in 2023. Notably, Peter Selz (Art Historian and Museum Director) selected one of her sculptures for an international exhibition in Athens, Greece, at the Ekfrasi-Yianna Grammatopoulou Gallery. In 2008, she was also chosen by the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation to create a large-scale metal heart for the Hearts in San Francisco project and in 2010 her work was selected for the esteemed ArtSpan’s Selections exhibition. Her work has been showcased at renowned venues such as the SFMOMA Artists Gallery and Google’s San Francisco Headquarters. Rebecca’s work has also been included in many group exhibitions including Seager Gray Gallery, George Billis Gallery, and Arc Gallery among many others. Rebecca maintains her studio at Islais Creek Studios in San Francisco, CA.
