There is a visceral response to the parted lips. This is one of a series of wall hung sculptures that together will make up a story called "Scandal". The other lips in the series are licking, biting, and puckered. Each will be cast and painted in a series of daring colors. Ultimately, I see a museum wall with a multitude of these lips in the varying colors and shapes. I want to bring awareness to the reality that we are being bombarded with scandals at every turn. From click bait to the news to "Reality TV", everything we consume is scandal driven. I hope to spark discourse and bring rational thought to people's consumption habits.
