With the dilution and bastardisation of visual culture reaching a saturation point where all boundaries are blurred, do we now have the opportunity to create objects of rare exoticness?
As our lives become increasingly predetermined Goode is interested in the possibility that we can find originality and newness in the unknown or unfamiliar. With this in mind he is currently engaged in sourcing quality from the unknown. Using unfamiliar, sometimes randomly sourced materials and applying known design knowledge to create what Walter Benjamin would refer to as an ‘object with aura.’
