I live and work in Kent, in the UK and have been a full time sculptor for over 20 years. My first career was working with animals, and this still has a large impact on my life and work.
I spend quite a lot of time carefully selecting the medium for my sculptures that will best produce the effect I want to achieve. Maybe this is by the use of the figuring in the grain of a unique piece of timber, or perhaps by utilising the striking effect achieved with the contemporary medium of plywood. Sometimes the smooth effect of bronze is the best way to portray an idea.
I am self-taught, although I have spent much time talking with and exchanging information with carvers and artists from all over the world.
My works are also produced in limited edition bronze and silver.
I am a professional member of the Society of Wildlife Artists (part of the Federation of British Artists).
Bill has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally including:
Mall Galleries London with
SWLA (Society of Wildlife Artists) every year since late 1990's

2012 received the Wildlife Artist of the Year Award for Sculpture. Awarded Highly Commended at the Wildlife Artist of the Year exhibition, London, 2019 and 2020.
