My name is Brittany Bruce and I am a self-taught abstract expressionist artist driven by a fascination with movement, chaos, and the emotional force of color. My work is a response to feeling rather than form - fluid, intuitive, and often unpredictable. I fell in love with Van Gough's Starry Night as a child. I do not remember where I first saw an image of the painting, but I remember feeling it. I loved the intensity, use of color, boldness of the blues and gold, and the movement you could feel. My use of texture and heavy brush strokes are drawn from impressionists such as Gough and Monet, along with the chaotic movements of Jackson Pollock. I create pieces that aim to stir emotion, evoke energy, and challenge stillness. Every canvas is a moment of motion captured, where layers of paint speak louder than words.

Art, for me, is not just something to look at - it's something to feel. My process is physical, immersive, and ever-evolving, grounded in curiosity and the freedom that comes from not following traditional rules. Through my work, I explore the tension between control and release, structure and spontaneity.

Self-taught abstract expressionist with a deep commitment to continual learning and experimentation. Inspired by the pioneers of expressionism, Mark Rothko & Jackson Pollock, I have developed my practice through independent study, masterclasses, hands-on exploration, and immersive engagement with art history, color theory, and fluid dynamics. My education is rooted in the study of Art History from pre-history art, Egyptian, Renaissance, Baroque, & modern art. Additionally, I have taken Artify classes taught by award-winning Artist Kasia Krecicka. Deeply rooted in experience by letting materials, motion, and emotion guide my artistic evolution.
