Sophia Burns

After graduating with honors in 1995 with her installation work from the Art School in Aix-en-Provence and concluding an art practice-led doctoral research in 2004 in Montréal, Sophia started to teach painting in the south of France. In 2008 she moved to Edinburgh where she now lives and works .
Since 2001, Sophia Lindsay Burns has pursued her practice as a painter with a focus on space and abstraction and maintained a daily drawing practice for which she was commissioned on several collaborative projects creating illustrations and visual diaries for authors.
Her work has been shown in group & solo exhibitions mainly in France since 1994, and at various art fairs in the UK and France since 2010 (MacParis 2010/2011)
