Byron Jelden

My artwork is fueled by my nostalgia for antique cars, car parts, and glass objects. That, along with my desire to repurpose items that would otherwise be tossed away or forgotten, is how I approach my work. Creative inspiration often comes from the play of light and it’s reflection and refraction through glass. I do my best to give new life and meaning to these antique and found glass objects; everything from eye glass lenses, head lights, cut crystal, and tableware. It is my joy and my passion… I am compelled to do this.

Aside from creating glass art for over 35 years, I have also worked in stained glass studios in New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Boston. I’ve been fortunate to have had the opportunity to restore historic windows and Tiffany stained glass, as well as creating new commissions.
