Carolina Ramos

Carolina is a multi-disciplinary artist working in many areas: Painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, and textiles.

Born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1968, Carolina began informally painting at the age of 13. As Fashion Designer, she incorporated art to her clothes. She also developed a jewelry line and an haute couture embroidery workshop.

Her heavily textured work intents to blur the lines between senses by stimulating the sight to “create” a touch experience. Carolina works is the result of the use of a wide range of materials: acrylics, gouache, wood, plaster, clay, tree branches, birch bark, yarns, fabrics, and many others from non-traditional sources.
