Cat de Lange is an entrepreneur, qualified designer and visual artist who is from South Africa, a country with a tumultuous yet rich multi cultural history.
She draws inspiration from her everyday life, thoughts and surroundings, stories and struggles, interesting people and diverse cultures, encounters, experiences and emotions, fads and feelings, facts, fantasy and fiction. In some of her work she aspires to visually comment on current local and global issues that she feels strongly about, to create awareness and entice people to think and possibly open up broader conversation about these matters.
Cat has two serious potentially deadly and/or debilitating diseases Lupus SLE and Dermatomyositis which currently has no cure, however she decides not to dwell on that. Her art is her medicine, outlet and escape where she can be Alice in wonderland or Dorothy of to find the wonderful wizard of Oz. Much of her work is fun and whimsical to lighten moods and rooms and heal wounds. As a child she was fascinated with the tiny books of Beatrix Potter and from there the love for rabbits with character and personality formed.
