I live in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Reconstructed parts of furniture, tables, couches and chairs are colorfully ornamented with eastern beauty. They stand or hang. Are they only parts of baroque furniture or do they have a deeper power? They refer to wealth and status but also ugliness and kitsch. These are strange but familiar objects that appear to have a place in another world. A new meaning and status arises in these sculptures made of used and unimportant objects. In the photographs the chapters of life move between suffering and beauty. The different forces of nature and culture become tangible and visible.
