Colleen Cameron

I am influenced by the energy that comes from whimsey and a carefree spirit. I seek out the wonder in life to remind myself that the good far outweighs the bad, and to be grateful. I hope my pieces bring joy to others and inspires you to alway use your imagination.

Born in Texas to immigrants who started a family owned business, I spent some of my childhood staying behind the scenes at the store while my parents worked until closing time on the weekends since they had day jobs. From there I learned to value hard work, and the culture I come from.

I currently live in Seattle WA with my young family. I have always been drawn to art, but as a working mom, I find it hard to carve out time. After many compliments on my pieces from numerous people, one friend offered me an opportunity to pursue my passion by featuring my work at his magical store in Edmonds WA. Similar to my parents before, I have a day job but on the weekends I transform into a "Gluing Godess".

I am honored my work has been commissioned for display in private homes. I am delighted to share images upon request.

I graduated with a Business Degree from the University of Texas at Austin. But for my artistic path, I have to thank Steffanie Lorig, a fellow artist, friend and teacher, for getting me started on my creative journey and being a role model. After leaving her tutelage, I continued to explore amongst friends on occasional craft Sundays to work on our projects. I have been drawn to collage work of prints on Black. I believe there is mystery in the negative space of Black, and the subject matter and the meaning I hope to convey is more pronounced. I also take the time to finish out the edge of the canvas so that the art is ready to hang. Further, you will find my own twist with acrylic paints, gel pens, sparkle and found items to create the Magic and make you smile!
