Every painting I paint leaves me with a strong impression. I dream of the subject, fall in love with it and carry it around with me at least during the time of creation. I hope to pass on some of the impact a subject made on me.

Although I studied art at university it is from encounters that I get most of my training and inspiration. Every visit in the museum, every book I read, every model I meet, every painting I paint leaves me with something I learn, something I fight with, something I mourn about, something to grow, something to love. To me the path in the sense of growth and development is the important moment in painting. The results are merely milestones. I hope to reach places but the struggle to reach them and the efforts that continue afterwards are even more important.
