I have always been creative as a young child. I was drawn to sewing and drawing as a way of escaping into a world of imagination. Since then, art and creativity have been s source of personal healing. This way of practicing art has bled into my practice as a professional artist. Having studied and worked in fashion design, the work I have done over these years still influences me to this date in terms of lines. fluidity and movement.
I have a desire to share these skills I have honed through teaching in art classes in charities focused on pensioners, and people with learning disabilities and those with less access to traditional education.
I find the art of making healing as I get into a non-judgemental meditative state. I want the viewer to get a sense of healing when looking at the pieces I create. I make the work first for myself and have a desire to simply create. Sharing my love of art is a way of finding my voice.
I studied fashion design realisation at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts. I hold a PG Certificate in Creative Education and teach art as a volunteer at local charities.
I won the Louise Wilson Prize for Illustration at London College of Fashion during my second year of study.
Leading meditative art sessions, I also use mindful drawing as a way of supporting students to overcome life experiences and free themselves of the inner critic.
