Leo Pontes

I'm Brazilian artist and product designer, living in Porto Alegre - Brazil with exhibitions in Sao Paulo, New York, Lisbon, Porto Alegre and Florianópolis.
My works represent an attempt to trace a relationship between chaos and order. The urban space represents to me this relationship: large urban agglomerations that can function, as if they were a large organism, coexisting chaos and order, in the same system. They can start with organic and spontaneous graphics, figures form and shapes appear, build, deconstruct. Finally, scenes form, with asymmetrical points, curved, in lines difficult to be predicted; at other times they are symmetrical, straight, in predictable lines. I like to study the dynamics (energy) between individual and society, their relationship with their habitat (their microcosm). The contrast formed by the imbalances, challenge the order, forming a new balance. We find small autonomous stories, often unknown, that form the basis of a very contrasting ecosystem.
Mapping and materializing, walking towards the unknown, opening doors that lead you to a new reality.
