Donna Talerico

My journey into abstract painting has come by way of a 20 yr. career
as a Fashion Illustrator and another 15 years depicting cafés and streetscenes
of France. Gradually I've pushed the boundaries between representation
and abstraction, forging into lost edges and less articulation of subject matter.

This last year I've fallen in love with the total freedom that abstraction
allows me. Being spontaneous, playing on larger surfaces with loose brushwork--
this is totally seductive. Like the mid-century expressionists, my inspiration
comes from the very act of painting, and my own spin is the New Journey.
