Eve Kruuse

Knowledge, that I want to paint, that I have to paint, has been sitting inside me for many years like an unborn butterfly. And has been waiting for its time.

It is not “What to paint” but “Why to paint” that is truly important. And if my art matters to someone else, then it brings joy to both sides and the world is a better place for that moment.

Mostly I paint with oil and acrylic paint on canvas, some artworks have been made on wood that is decades old. In that case wood becomes a co-author because not always does paint behave on wood in the same way or how I would want it to. The result is definitely surprising and interesting. Recently I have been testing a new technique by combining photos I have taken to acrylic or oil painting.

Art is like visual poetry. But poetry does not only tell about pretty things. That is why I get inspired by things that upset me or even make me angry or makes me stop and think for a moment, that gives me wings. Maybe art should be seen with your soul rather than the eyes.
