Ger De La Teja

I’m a multidisciplinary artist based in Appleton, Wisconsin, though I was born and raised in Mexico City. I’ve been drawing since I was about 10 years old, and before I started painting, charcoal and pastels were my favorite media. My passion for film, fine art, and literature first led me to a career in professional photography, which I’ve honed for over 20 years. However, my boundless creativity and curiosity propelled me to explore new paths. In 2009, I returned to school at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, where I studied film, creative writing, and studio art.

Since then, I’ve written, directed, and shot several independent short films, and created many portraits, life stills, and abstract compositions. In 2018, I ventured into body painting, and a year later, I embraced fine painting, steadily building my artistic portfolio. I currently live in Appleton with my wonderful wife, Heidi, and our two cats, Chewy and Raffa.

I studied film, creative writing and studio art at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh where I graduated Cum Laude and got a BA.
