Ginie Ruitenbeek

She lives and works in Utrecht, the Netherlands. She graduated the Wackers Academy in 2012. This is a classical art academy in Amsterdam. She made lots of model drawings, but she’s more interested in still-life painting and (industrial) landscapes. She works with oil paint. Her work is built up in several layers.
In her landscapes she imagines the desolate atmosphere she’s seen in the northern countries of Europe, like Iceland, Norway and Scotland. The ambiance is a bit gloomy and dark.
Her industrial landscapes are about the search to find a balanced image. Lines and soft colors are playing the leading role. Here she also creates abandoned atmospheres.
Her flowerpaintings and still-life paintings are more realistic works.
Since her graduation in 2012 she’s exhibiting her work at several art fairs and in galleries.
