Hajrian Syah

An expressionist-surrealism painter hailing from Banjarmasin, Indonesia. I draw inspiration from the rich tapestry of my surroundings. My journey in fine art, nurtured at the Institute of Arts Yogyakarta from 1999 to 2003, has shaped my distinctive voice. Through my canvases, I weave narratives that delve into the essence of local culture, critique the environment, and ponder the boundless depths of human ambition.

In my works, symbols are not merely adornments but vital conduits of meaning, each imbued with significance to reinforce the thematic layers I explore. Humans, animals, plants, and inanimate objects intertwine, creating a surreal landscape where reality and imagination converge.
