I am inspired by bright colours and patterns in nature. when I was younger I was a Sunday girl in a local garden centre, and my parents had greenhouses, so I was always surrounded with lots of inspiration from plants, which are a reccuring theme in my work.
I like to think I have an unusual technique. I generally work in acrylic on canvas, and I then bead and stitch on top, often using hundreds and thousands of tiny seed beads to embellish my artwork. It is not unusual for each piece to take over 200 hours. More recently I have also started experimenting with stitching on paper.
I own and curate a gallery based In Guernsey, in the Channel Islands, allowing me to concentrate on my art career full time.
