Jenny Meehan is a London based visual artist and poet. Her process- led, interdisciplinary approach embraces the use of a wide range of media. Valuing formal aesthetic qualities, alongside what she perceives as the presence, or poetry, of the work itself, her cross-genre practice is rooted in an interest in contemplative spirituality and depth psychology.
Following her studies at Kingston University (BA Hons Literature) a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Roehampton University led to a career in teaching. From 2010 Jenny focused on the Visual Arts, training primarily at West Dean College. Selected by a wide range of judges, her work has been exhibited in many galleries and museums in the UK.
Jenny Meehan is interested in the emotional, psychological and spiritual aspects of human experience. Her works often aim to evoke a sense of wonder, curiosity, and introspection in the viewer.
She is fascinated by how memory and sensory experience shape our understanding of the world, and uses her creative exploration of personal transformation through spirituality, analytical psychotherapy and somatic movement as a means to inspire and envision others in their own personal development.
Following her studies at Kingston University (BA Hons Literature) a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Roehampton University led to a career in teaching. From 2010 Jenny focused on the Visual Arts, training at both West Dean College and through local adult education provision.
