I was born at home, in 1969, the year man first stepped onto the moon. Grew up in the City of Chichester in Sussex. Moved around the South Coast living in the New Forest, Southampton and Brighton before moving to London.
After leaving school in the mid 80's I started to begin my journey with painting, experimenting and finding my own style. My first exhibitions were in the early 90's.
My work from around 1994 - 2000 was heavily influenced by symbolism. I found it a very useful way to portray my life around that time. It gave me a way to express and deal with the things that I wanted to work through.
Around the late 90's I had also started to branch out into abstract expressionism. My use of colour form and structure seemed to take over and my interest in architecture started to manifest in my paintings.
The last 10 years I have been working and developing my love of architectural abstraction. Views of buildings, the cities I have lived in or visited, the views out of windows and house interiors.
As for the future? Well I guess I will just have to wait and see.
I studied and passed a 2 year NVQ in art and mixed media at Chichester college of art, science and technology many years ago. I then passed a 1 year access course in fine art at the same college. My grades were high which enabled me to enrol on a BA in fine Art at the London Guildhall University (now called London Metropolitan).
Previously exhibited in Brighton, Chichester and London.
Recently I was part of the group exhibition 'September Trinity' where I had 7 paintings on show from September 7th to October 3rd at the Paul Macpherson Gallery in Greenwich, London.
