Jim Smyth (b. 1938- present) is an Adjunct Professor of Drawing and Painting at the College of San Mateo, San Mateo, Ca. (1994- present) and Cogswell Polytechnical College, San Jose, Ca. (2001- present) In addition, he teaches Drawing, Painting, Life Drawing and Quick Figure Sketching at the Palo Alto Art Center, Palo Alto, Ca.
Jim was employed by Control Data, European Center for Nuclear Research, (CERN), Geneva, Switzerland working on CD6600 and peripheral equipment. (1968-9).
He was Master Printer and Director at Appletree Press, San Mateo, Ca., for many years (1970-1982)
He was instructor in Drawing and Painting at the Pacific Art League of Palo Alto, Ca., from 1969 to 1994.
