Jingyu Xu is a multi-media artist whose main areas of practice are sculpture, painting, video, and installation art. Jingyu was born in Shandong, China in 1981. She currently lives and works in South Florida, USA and Beijing, China. In 2004, she earned a bachelor's degree in sculpture from the Shandong University of Art and Design and was invited to stay at the school to teach until 2012. From 2007-2008, Jingyu was a visiting scholar at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Lyon, France. Her works have been exhibited at important art institutions in China and other countries. include the National Art Museum of China, Today Art Museum, Shanghai Art Museum, Shanghai Minsheng Art Museum, Guangzhou Grand Theater, Grand Palais in Paris, and the Chinese Embassy in France. Her video works have won the Outstanding Work Award of the 1st U.S. Yage Literature and Art Awards (2020), and her design works have won the Bronze Award of the 10th National Art Exhibition of China (2004).
