John Henny

I specialise in portraits of music icons both past and present, and in doing so, ensure my portraits find that elusive inner self of my subjects. I have always been inspired by the paintings and story telling of the old masters and to that effect some of my most recent paintings are inspired by particular song's of my subjects and as a result, are my interpretations of these songs.
I was born in Bradford, England. I have now live in Robin Hood’s Bay, a beautiful tiny fishing village on the east coast of North Yorkshire, where I now paint on a full time basis.

I studied at the Bradford College of Art.

I have a permanent exhibition at Cafe Bar Northgate, in Baildon, West Yorkshire, England and have another permanent exhibition in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England.
I also sell a range of limited edition prints through Acorn Gallery of Pocklington, North Yorkshire.
