Kavin Buck

Born in Southern California and currently my studio is i Portland, Oregon.

My paintings and prints explore the impermanence and the temporal quality of time emphasizing traditional mark-making and synthesized stylistic elements of both realism and abstraction. Many of my images include open field fields, accumulations of river stones, and voluminous flowers that serve as metaphorical structures to rigorously investigate line and color. The unique color combinations reveal a deep, luscious palette built on confidently rendered shapes, layered atop energetic splashes, repeated lines, and delicate swirls of thinly dripped paint. Each work activates the eye and reflects my deep investment in the history of modern and contemporary painting.

My artworks are included in many public, private, and corporate collections in the United States and internationally including the Ritz Carlton, City of Portland, Canopy Hotels by Hilton, Purple Hands Winery, and many more.
