Kirti Patel

I'm a physician and artist. I was born in Gujarat, India, but grew up in New Jersey, and now live in Massachusetts in a little town with classic New England charm. In my younger years, I sketched with pencil and charcoal and painted with acrylics. Now I enjoy painting with oil. I am mostly self-taught, but in the past year, I've worked with a wonderful local artist-mentor named Alexia Rosoff Wilbur who has helped me improve my skills and is teaching me new techniques and how to work with oils.


Beautiful art has been a source of wonder and joy, and an inspiration to create my own. Another inspiration is travel. I love to learn about other cultures and enjoy local art and architecture, and that is often when I'm practicing my photography.


Painting is a meditative experience for me. I paint scenes I love and I enjoy the opportunity to study them in detail over the hours I spend on the works.
