Imagine being suspended in water, encircled by ephemeral objects that glint, gleam , shift shadows, reveal images and illuminate colors. Such is the highly exceptional nature of La Chauvinieres' translucent sculptures and digital art.
Each of her pieces is original by virtue of the materials and components more importantly, by events and/or injustices that inspire her creations. Her subject matters are compelling, moving, intellectually demanding and for some, disquieting. As with all important art, her work never leaves a viewer unaffected.

Formed in Modern Art, Watercolor, Engraving and Sculpture in National Schools and various renowned Workshops, she subsequently taught her Watercolor Teaching to more than 150 artists of all Ages and conditions; years later, she found the passion for the unusual "torolithe*" a synthetic resin that, with practice and experience it can be manipulated to create evocative and engaging fine art sculptures.
From this unique sculptures, with the help of Liz Craig, she discovered that playing with the particular colors the torolithe final sculpture acquires and by giving them correct lighting, it provides an extraordinary creation, a different point of view to each sculpture, simplifying her work to beautiful digital art.
*Torolithe is an industrial resin used in the aerospace industry for rocket nose cones and glider wings because of its clarity of surface and ability to withstand difficult environments.
