I can’t explain why i have chosen this form to express myself. Long time ago i saw a sculpture in an art gallery in Pitesti (Romania) made of raw, unworked soldering wire, and then i wondered if there was possible to work with the drops obtained by melting this wire.
All the works are UNICATES; i never succeded to solidify two drops of tin so they may look the same.
The technology is simple - it consists in melting the pewter wire (used in electrotechnics and electronics) by means of a plain soldering iron and these works are made practically by using the drops of the hot metal. None of these sculptures is made by moulding and they do not comprise parts made by using the same process either. This technology does not use any pattern. Their making looks somehow like forming stalagmites. In fact, the big challenge consists in modelling the liquid.
