I'm an Australian artist living and working in Sydney.
I paint everyday objects and the space around me in an attempt ‘to make sense’ of the space, the simple beauty and the way everything fits together.
I've found that by setting up a structured and repetitive study of the smaller, intimate things from my close environment, and through the sustained and daily observation of the ordinary, something new can be found and the ordinary becomes extraordinary.
My work is held in public and private collections in Australia and Europe including works in the National Gallery of Australia.
I studied printmaking under Jorg Schmeisser at the Canberra School of Art. During my studies I was granted a travel scholarship to visit museums, galleries and and Art schools across Europe.
On my return I completed a BFA in Printmaking and Painting at the Sydney College of the Arts and received a scholarship to complete Post Graduate studies in Painting at the Rijks Academie S’hertogenbosch in the Netherlands.
I lived, worked and exhibited in Amsterdam for 17 years, returning to Australia in 2007 to set up a studio in Clovelly, Sydney where I paint and teach today.
