I have been an artist from a very early age - compelled to create. My parents recounted how I would draw for hours at the age of two. At the age of nine I painted my first abstract with the acrylic paints my dad had just given me as a present; this painting is still in my possession. While in senior high school many hours were spent in the evening at the local college library absorbing books on a multitude of artists.
I am an artist and a third generation architect born in Havana, Cuba in 1959. My family fled Cuba in 1961 to begin a new life in the USA.
Prior to attending Pratt Institute, in New York City, I received the highest award given to a student in the arts, Hall of Fame in Art, from Miami Coral Park Senior High School. I was also awarded and attended an art study scholarship to the University of Miami.
I am a licensed architect in the State of Florida - Lic. # AR0013938.
My art, including a water sculpture, are in private collections throughout the USA and abroad. One of my bonsai ceramic pots is on display at the U.S. National Arboretum in Washington, D.C. I have an aesthetic vision which integrates the man-made, architecture and art, with nature.
