María Lidia Muñoz

I was born in Costa Rica, a small and precious country in Central America, recognized for its democracy, beautiful tropical landscapes, volcanos, virgin beaches, friendly people, being the place that concentrates 6% of the biodiversity of the world in its flora and fauna. Ever since a child, art has always fascinated me; from the smell of crayons and old bookstores, to the children's experiments with tempera and drawings. After graduating as a Civil Engineer from the University of Costa Rica in 1984, and worked in my career, I started to experiment, investigate and immerse myself into this beautiful world of Oil Painting. Wanting to receive from The Creator, a bit of that sparkle and offer it to the world in the form of art.

I have undergone academic studies of drawing and painting, obtaining the certificate "Traditional Oil Painting" from Texan artist Johnnie Liliedahl(+). I received also instruction from recognized USA artists such as Jeffrey Watts, Daniel Gerhartz, Sherrie McGraw, Scott Burdick and Carolyn Anderson, specialist masters in oil impressionist technique. I have sold my art to collectors from my country, and participated in national and international solo and group shows
