Marie Elaine Lalonde

Visual artist Marie Elaine Lalonde holds a bachelor's degree (2006) and a master's degree (2021) in visual and media arts from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM). Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions at the Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke, the Centre d'exposition du Vieux-Presbytère de Saint-Bruno, the Maison des arts et de la culture de Brompton and the Maison du développement durable de Montréal. Her works have also been part of contemporary art fairs in Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia. Her most recent installations are distinguished by his sensitivity to the impact of light on materiality.

"I am interested in metamorphoses; in the correlations between materiality and immateriality that make the particularity and uniqueness of each form generated by nature in time. The matter is, according to me, endowed with an inherent activity, with an indeterminate potential; constantly disposed to become other. Therefore, I am fascinated by the structures generated by the phenomena of growth and decay: processes that I consider informed, influenced and conditioned by a complex association between the structure of matter and the conditions of the environment.
