As an artist, I seek to share the solace I experience through making images that offer a glimpse of Nature's breath, where I believe if we look carefully we can witness the world of spirit.
I start with inspiration from Master photographer Ansel Adams who, among his great works, captured the motion in waterfalls. Working with this same longer exposure, I create images through the lens, painting with light. I push the edge of the traditional "still" to expose the space between it and movement, a small space in which we can witness nature's breath. And, fascinated, I attempt to capture it.
I blend the still camera's long exposure with my own movement, using the influence of my cinematic work to entwine my emotion, tracing it into the work. The results of course are in the viewer's response.
I continue through many seasons, to create a body of work, striving for the images to remain organic, reflecting nature, derived from nature, seeking out the spirit world. The audience sees through my eyes and feels through my heart, as I offer up images that pay homage to life.
