Milan Jandik is a documentary and fine art photographer with roots in film making. He started his photographic adventures at 13 with his grandfather being a great influence. He was an avid globetrotter as well as a very keen photographer.
Milan first really utilised everything he had learned from him when attending film school, and after that, it really took off as something fundamental to his everyday life. When he wasn’t busy filming it helped massively to keep a photographic eye and develop a deeper understanding of composition.
Nowadays he switches between photography, film making and writing. Having lived in the Western Cape in South Africa and having traveled Africa extensively many fantastic photo opportunities presented themselves, but as a commercial photographer he specialise in architectural and portrait photography.
His go-to cameras are Canon DSLRs (7D series, 5D series)
His favourite subject is the most aesthetic composition of any given situation. If you master that ability the discipline won't matter anymore, just the picture.
Nowadays he lives in the Maledives and slowly transitions into underwater filming and photography to widen his spectrum of the art.
He got his first gig abroad whilst still being enrolled in film school.
This particular assignment was a documentary about rhinos and poaching in Africa. This helped him tremendously to advance his career by leaps and bounds.
