Nargol Arefi

Nargol Arefi is an Iranian artist based in Chicago. She moved to the United States in 2005 to pursue her education in art. Nargol's education in illustration gave her storytelling skills and she mixes storytelling with her love for expressive abstract art and non-abstract paintings. Almost always, she starts her work with a story and a feeling her mind and develop them from there and often, she lets the music or her feelings take over her paintings.
Nargol's work has been recognized by The Society of Illustrators in New York and The Illustrator’s Club of DC, MD and VA. Currently she lives in Chicago and works as a painter and as a freelance illustrator and she teaches at the Design department of Columbia College Chicago.
