Niloufar Tofigh

My work connects with memory and place, it challenges the idea of dreams and realities, faceless and timeless figures with a crown on head, fishes are finding ways to jump out of the tank, picturing my fantasy world in a poetic way. Persian miniature has a deep impact on forming my practice. Persian painting is not just limited to representation of the purely intrinsic character of the object, but to achieve emotional expression in a poetic way to visualise dreams and impossibilities.
