Christine Palamidessi

My art follows the female form through time, culture, history and myth. Since my early school days I decided it was rather upsetting that in history books, there were no stories about women. Consequently I devoted myself --from the beginning of my consciousness and creativity - to bring the stories and images of women to the forefront in my art and writing. I am interested in their beauty, strength, ability to spring back, courage and playfulness.

The women in my extended family were no-nonsense ladies who all worked. I had good teachers.

I am a multi-disciplined artist: I write, sculpt, print and paint. Most all of my work is done with paper.
