People and nature have been the subjects of my artworks for many years. Nowadays, life seems to be much associated with materials values. The more modern facilities become, the more peacefulness and gracefulness are overlooked. Hence, I want to recreate in my artwork the pure beauty of women, the innocence of children, and the peaceful natural countryside…
That originality has always inspired me.
Lacquer is one of my favorite materials. The deep color of lacquer is suitable for expressing feelings of nostalgia, shade, and clouds. From that dark backgrounds, the materials such as gold, silver and eggs shells sparkle…
It takes a long time to complete a lacquer painting, sometimes years. Each time, in a different mood, from a different perspective, with a different perception, one can always discover new aspects from the artwork.
Besides, I am using some other mediums, such as watercolor on paper or oil on canvas.
These mediums take shorter time to complete (in comparing with lacquer), so they help me seize the moments of life or the emotion in my mind.
