I am a South African analogue collage artist working with surrealist dreamscapes. Based between the tranquility of Knysna and the chaos of London, I use thrifted or gifted paper materials, intricately cut and re-imagined to create unique pieces of artwork. I have spent the last 12 years spent working as a florist for luxury events where waste is everywhere, no matter how hard you try to reduce it. In my personal artistic endevaours, one of my primary goals is repurposing both materials and frames. The themes of fear, death, repressed sexuality, the subconscious, spirituality and grief are prevalent in my work which started as a hobby in lockdown but has been an obsession ever since. My work is influenced by my own dark sense of humour and deep personal anguish, as well as a love of the nostalgic, kitsch, creepy and obscure. I am a mother to a gorgeous toddler called Casper and the sweetest little Schnauzer, Lily.
