Budu is a Ghanaian based artist. He is a self taught artist, exploring with oil pastel, charcoal, and acrylic paint. Most of his painting highly self expressive, of colour, shapes and strong and bold lines. Living in Ghana, West Africa really inspires me with the rich culture and lifestyle, I was moved when I first saw indigenous carved sculpture figures made by my Great ancestors. Art help me to bring into physical my inner voice and it is my message I want to send across the globe. Actually, it is a blessing to create something that resonates with people, that they want to have and hung it in their precious space, because the art inspires and affects them positively. Faces and figures in may paintings are influenced by African indigenous sculptures especially the African mask, the simplicity of forms and lines fuels my work. The subject matter of my paintings evolves around the street, people that I meet and everyday life challenges: including political, social, environmental , economical problems confronting African societies and the world as a whole.
